Why The Street Profits Debuted On RAW, Dolph Ziggler’s WWE Status

– The WWE Universe was quite surprised to see NXT Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits, make their main roster debut during this past Monday Night RAW. While NXT callups don’t typically unfold during this time of the year, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that the RAW appearance by Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins was a call made by Paul Heyman. The WWE has a renewed focus on gaining back that teenage demographic, and it seems Heyman believes the Street Profits can help with this.

According to the WON report, Heyman requested them for RAW television, but they are still considered NXT talent and will still do live shows for the Yellow and Black brand, while doing television on Mondays for the Team Red.

Therefore, the tag team will continue to appear on both RAW and NXT at this point in time, as NXT can’t afford to lose another tag team and Heyman wants them also on RAW. This just equals out to much more television time for the Profits, and more entertainment for us fans.

– Dolph Ziggler had a very unique deal with the WWE that allowed him to wrestle and still do stand up comedy. Having said that, it seems those days of juggling both may be over for him. The Show-Off recently had an interview with Sunday Night’s Main Event where he stated that he is now back with the WWE full-time. He also relayed that his feud with Kofi Kingston was not a spur of the moment idea, rather it was planned three months prior to the event unfolding.

Seems like the WWE Universe will be seeing a lot more of Dolph Ziggler moving forward, with a potential match against Kevin Owens come the Extreme Rules pay-per-view set for July 14th. This past SmackDown LIVE gave fans a tease of a Kevin Owen’s babyface turn, as he attacked Ziggler after a tag team match against Heavy Machinery.
