Beth Chapman ‘Not Expected to Recover’

We previously reported that “Dog The Bounty Hunter” star Beth Chapman was placed in a medically induced coma over the weekend as she continues to battle stage IV lung cancer. Now, a sad update has come in, as family sources have told TMZ that Beth is “not expected to recover.”

The U.K. Sun reported that sources said that Beth’s mother, children, and grandchildren have rushed to her bedside in Hawaii and that they are “preparing for the worst” since “not much can be done” for the 51-year-old reality television star.

Beth was placed in a medically-induced coma on Saturday after she began frantically fighting against doctors’ attempts to treat her. It’s been reported that Beth was pulling out the tubes doctors were using to give her fluids and medications, leaving them with no choice but to sedate her. When this did not work, doctors resorted to putting her in a medically-induced coma so she could get the treatment she needs.

Beth’s husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman, took to social media over the weekend to ask for prayers, writing to his fans, “Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you.”

Despite these reports, Chapman family spokeswoman Mona Wood-Sword said the family is still hopeful that Beth will get through this.

“Duane and the family feel she’s such a fighter, she could get better,” Wood-Sword said. “The family still has hope.”

Chapmans Turn To Their Christian Faith

Duane has previously been open about how his family’s Christian faith has been getting them through this cancer battle.

“Faith is probably the No. 1 thing in our lives, no matter what we’re faced with,” Duane said. “Through this cancer episode, we had to drum up as much faith as we could. And the Bible talks about having faith as small as a mustard seed. And that’s not much… And I thank God that we had at least that much faith to get her through that.”
