Meryl Streep Trashes the Idea of ‘Toxic Masculinity’

The liberal world of Hollywood is more obsessed with political correctness than ever these days, which is why it came as a welcome surprise when A-list star Meryl Streep spoke out against PC culture in a new interview.

Liberals are constantly trying to divide us along racial or gender lines, and one of their favorite ways to do so is by speaking out against things like “toxic masculinity.” While promoting the new season of her HBO show “Big Little Lies,” Streep took issue with this and pointed out how harmful it is to label various aspects of masculinity as “toxic.”

“Sometimes, I think we’re hurt. We hurt our boys by calling something toxic masculinity. I do,” Streep said, according to Daily Mail. “And I don’t find putting those two words together [works] because women can be pretty f***ng toxic. It’s toxic people. We have our good angles and we have our bad ones.”

Instead of focusing on the things that divide us, Streep went on to talk about the importance of coming together as “human beings” by communicating better with one another.

“I think the labels are less helpful than what we’re trying to get to, which is a communication, direct, between human beings,” she said. “We’re all in the boat together. We’ve got to make it work.”

Over the past few years, liberals have been trying to make women and minorities feel like victims every chance they can in the hopes that this will make them vote Democrat. This has divided our society more than ever, and preaching against “toxic masculinity” is just one of many ways that the left has gone about vilifying men. Many Hollywood stars have only made the divisions in our country worse, so it’s refreshing to see a star like Streep speak out in favor of unity.

If we are really going to come back together as a society in the way Streep wants us to, liberals are going to have to accept the fact that it’s alright that some people think differently about politics than they do. If the left can do that, we will indeed be fine, but if they can’t, our society is doomed to be divided for many years to come.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
