AEW Plans For Jon Moxley + WWE Fallout After AEW PPV

-In what might very well be the biggest wrestling free agent move since Hall and Nash jumped to WCW, the artist formerly known as Dean Ambrose has a new place of employment.

In case you missed it, Jon Moxley (Ambrose’s name before and after WWE) made a surprise debut at the end of All Elite’s first ever PPV on Saturday night.

Following his debut, AEW has revealed what they have planned for Moxley.

Per the Wrestling Observer, Mox has signed a multi-year deal to be a full time talent. He is expected to be one of the company’s top four or five players, along side guys like Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega. He is not planned to be a part timer.

-Speaking of All Elite, it will be interesting to see what happens next within WWE, relative to the impressive AEW debut this weekend.

For starters, AWOL WWE Superstar Sasha Banks dropped a Tweet relative to Double or Nothing that is sure to raise some eyebrows. But she was not alone.

Several other WWE Superstars, including SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, also tweeted about the show to some extent. While some, like Payton Royce, have an excuse (she is engaged to the former Tye Dillinger), most were just being wrestling fans. However, they are wrestling fans who just happen to be employed by Vince McMahon and WWE.

To make things even more intriguing, former WWE Superstar Dustin Runnels mentioned that, following Double or Nothing, he got texts from numerous WWE employees.

It’s no shock that people would watch the show, including people connected with WWE.

What will be interesting to see now is how Vince McMahon responds. The show on Saturday demonstrated that AEW is more than capable of competing with WWE, and the social media behavior of several WWE Superstars shows that they are watching.

Stay tuned.
