UFC St. Petersburg Primer: Watch Alistair Overeem Ruin Brock Lesnar

Alistair Overeem has recorded many, memorable wins during his decorated career. But, recently the UFC shared out one of his biggest.

Yes, as the headline reports, that victory was Overeem’s 2011 bout with Brock Lesnar, which went down at UFC 141. At the time, Lesnar was coming off a loss to Cain Velasquez in 2010, which ended his reign as the UFC’s heavyweight champ. The pro-wrestling star had also been sidelined due to a bout of diverticulitis. Overeem, meanwhile, was making his UFC debut.

Well, the feared striker proceeded to take Lesnar out in under three minutes, and the latter announced he was leaving the sport (which didn’t stick).

Up next, at UFC St. Petersburg this Saturday, Overeem will battle choking artist (which is different than choke artist), Alexey Oleinik.
