Sasha Banks Reportedly Ask For WWE Release, Nia Jax Injured

– Missing from the first RAW since WrestleMania 35 was Sasha Banks. There have been reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Banks requested her WWE release once she heard of the plans for the Women Tag Team Championships. At WrestleMania, the short reign by Banks & Bayley was ended after The IIconics won a fatal four-way to win the titles.

WWE has not granted the release and instead told Banks to think over her decision. That has not stopped Banks from taking to social media, where she has been posting cryptic messages and also stopped following WWE and Vince McMahon on Twitter. The issue from Banks’ perspective is that WWE is not using her correctly. There are also reports that Bayley has similar feelings, but she did ask for a release and worked RAW; losing to Alexa Bliss.

This is not the first time Banks has been unhappy with the direction of her character. When feuding with Charlotte a few years back, “The Queen” always got the better and that resulted in Banks having short title reigns. 

Banks leaving would be a major loss for WWE, but All Elite Wrestling would probably be interested in her services.

– Do not expect to see Nia Jax on TV for a bit as she is getting ready for surgery. Nia has ACL tears in both knees, which she confirmed on Twitter.

Nia last competed at WrestleMania 35, where she was unsuccessful in teaming with Tamina Snuka to challenge for the Women Tag Team Championships. 

The injury is said to be something Nia had been dealing with and it did not occur from anything that happened last Sunday. As of right now, there is no word on how long Nia will be out of action.
