UFC Fight Night 144 Results: Marlon Moraes, Jose Aldo Impress In Brazil

Marlon Moraes avenged a prior loss to Raphael Assuncao in impressive fashion Saturday night, locking in a submission in the main event of UFC Fight Night 144.

The event streamed live on ESPN+ from Brazil.

Moraes, a former World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion, choked Assuncao out in the first round. Assuncao had earned a split decision over Moraes in the first meeting.

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo returned to winning form, finishing Renato Moicano in the second round in their co-main event fight.

The main card featured five finishes among the six bouts, as Demian Maia choked out Lyman Good, Charles Oliveria submitted David Teymur and Johnny Walker flattened Justin Ledet in just 15 seconds. Livia Renato Souza won the opener via split decision over Sarah Frota.

On the prelims, Markus Perez, Mara Romero Borella, Thiago Alves, Jairzinho Rozenstruick, Geraldo de Freitas, Said Nurmagomedov and Rogerio Bontorin were all winners.

Moraes, Aldo, Oliveira and Walker picked up $50,000 each for “Performance of the Night” showings.
