roseanne barr fired jewish

It’s been nearly eight months since Roseanne Barr was abruptly fired from ABC after she posted an offensive tweet about Barack Obama’s former advisor Valerie Jarrett. In the months since she was blacklisted, Barr has had a lot of time to think about why exactly ABC decided to fire her so quickly.

This past week, Barr reemerged to give an interview in which she revealed that she believes anti-Semitism played a large role in her firing. Salon reported that Barr explained that she thinks ABC fired her because she is Jewish and a supporter of Israel.

“I feel that what happened to me, a large part of it is antisemitism,” Barr said. “I think it played a part — the fact that I was never allowed to explain what I meant — and what I meant was a commentary on Iran — so they purposely mischaracterized what I said and wouldn’t let me explain. And in haste, they did something unprecedented that they’ve never done to any other artist.”

Barr went on to say that she believes she was fired for being “the most vocal person about Israel” in Hollywood.

It still seems clear that Barr was fired by ABC, and not given a second chance after apologizing for her controversial tweet, because she is an outspoken conservative supporter of Donald Trump. Like most of Hollywood, ABC is run by liberals who can’t stand giving a platform to a Trump-supporter like Barr, so leftwing executives were eagerly waiting for her to have one slip up so that they could fire her.

That being said, the fact that Barr is also an outspoken supporter of Israel certainly did not help her case in Hollywood, which has become increasingly anti-Israel in recent years. While that was not the only reason she was fired, she may be right that her support for Israel certainly played a role in her firing.

In the end, regardless of why she was fired, Barr deserves a second chance from Hollywood. She has apologized for her past mistakes, and she deserves the chance to resume her career without being blacklisted by bitter liberals.
