Kevin Hart Responds to Critics of His Son’s Cowboys and Indians Birthday

Many Americans have had enough of political correctness, and you can put Kevin Hart at the top of that list. The comedian blasted the many critics of his son’s recent Cowboys and Indians-themed birthday party.

Many critics on social media said he was “culturally appropriating” Native American culture after Hart’s wife posted a photo of the party. “Imagine being so woefully out of touch, that one marginalized group appropriates another…” said one commenter.

Here’s a good example of the Twitter replies Hart received:

Hart had a reply of his own: It’s “dumb sh*t.”

“The reason why I’m even bringing this dumb shit up is because it shows just how stupid our world is becoming with opinions,” Hart said on his Sirius/XM Radio “Straight from the Hart” according to TMZ.

“People are at a point of an all-time high, to throw racial judgment into the development of a 1-year-old’s birthday party where the theme is Cowboys and Indians, and it’s based around the outfits that are given to these young kids,” Hart said.

Hart has a good point about how out-of-whack everyone is becoming in relation to what people intend vs. what they do.

These kids weren’t trying to make fun of Native Americans or even cowboys, for that matter. They were taking part in something that has been handed down for generations.

As Hart said himself, his son’s Cowboys and Indians party “isn’t something that was just started.”

Hart elaborated further:

“This isn’t a racial slur that people are doing and being malicious with. This is a game that’s been played for years,” Hart said.

This is an important point. While the argument can be made that what happened to Native Americans historically in the United States should be handled with more sensitivity across the board, so should the fact that children playing Cowboys and Indians mean zero harm in doing so.

More people need to use basic common sense. Whether or not malicious intent is behind acts should account for something. To criticize these kids or their parents for participating in something so innocent is exactly why so many people today are so turned off to political correctness.
