As WWE prepares to broadcast it’s 1000th episode of Smackdown Tuesday, they have many special appearances in store.

The planned return of Evolution (The all-male faction, not to be confused with the upcoming all-women’s PPV) including HHH, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Batista. This will be Batista’s first WWE appearance since his acting career skyrocketed following his role as “Drax the Destroyer” in the Guardians of the Galaxy” movie franchise.

The “Rated-R Superstar” Edge is scheduled to appear, but don’t expect any rated-R shenanigans in the current WWE. The master of the “Spinnerooni” and “5 time! 5 time! 5 time! 5 time! 5 time!” world champ Booker T will also be on the show.

But one of the most anticipated returns is that of Rey Mysterio–and he’s already starting, or re-starting, a feud.

The last time Mysterio was seen in a WWE ring was his one-off appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match in January, and it is what happened to him at the Rumble that he’s looking to avenge.

The 43-year old lucha legend spoke with the UK’s Express Monday, where he said he was looking forward to matches with current WWE Champion AJ Styles.

But then Mysterio focused on what he sees as his main target on his return:

“AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor vs Rey Mysterio, not to mention he was the one who threw me out in the Royal Rumble.

“So no hard feelings, but if I ever do come back, I would go after him.”

If you recall, it was Balor who eliminated Mysterio from the Royal Rumble in January – and that was when it was down to only five men left.

Balor was the one responsible for Mysterio not advancing to the main event at WrestleMania this year–of course there’s going to be hard feelings!

619!

Mysterio has been a fan favorite for years, but especially with kids. This young fan even said back in June he would like to see the master of the 619 fight either Styles or Balor.

When Mysterio returns Tuesday he will face US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura for a chance to advance to the World Cup Tournament currently scheduled for WWE’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on November 2 (though whether the event takes place or not is currently up in the air). John Cena, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy are already in the tournament and a star from RAW and Smackdown will eventually join them.

But regardless of what happens with the tournament, fans would no doubt love to see Mysterio and Balor square off. Balor has needed a good storyline for some time, and battling a legend of Mysterio’s stature could certainly fill that void.
