Patriotism has folded to political correctness in an Atlanta School that has scrapped the Pledge of Allegiance. Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School has decided to cut the tradition from its morning routine. What students will be asked to stand for instead will infuriate proud Americans.
Typical liberal talking points that take direct aim at American culture were buzzwords in the statement that removed the Pledge from the school.
This assault on patriotism was done “in an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community,” Elementary Campus President Lara Zelski said. “Over the past couple of years, it has become increasingly obvious that more and more of our community were choosing to not stand and/or recite the pledge.”
This school doesn’t believe the Pledge of Allegiance is inclusive. We are Americans and it is our Pledge. How much more inclusive does it need to be for these left-wingers to understand? While the students were never forced to stand for the Pledge, they will be asked to stand for the Wolf Pack chant each morning. This chant is likely named for their school mascot, the wolves.

Zelski said teachers will work with students to create a new pledge that is acceptable to this community. She said it “will focus on students’ civic responsibility to their school family, community, country and our global society.”
This is exactly why parents need to be more proactive in their children’s schools. We can’t allow leftist administrators to keep chipping away at the patriotism we instill in our younger generations.
Decades ago, Red Skelton predicted the left’s assault on the Pledge of Allegiance. At the time, it was hard to understand why anyone would be offended by our country’s Pledge, but this classic TV actor’s premonition has come true. A leftist elected official in Connecticut is now kneeling during the National Anthem. This war against patriotism is likely to escalate unless we stand tall and proud in honor of our country.
