officer drives baby squad car

A Florida police officer is being hailed as a hero after saving the life of a three-month-old boy. Officer Jeremy Nix was on his way home from his shift when Nechole Crowell flagged him down at an intersection for help. While the K9 Officer was no longer on duty, he was not about to let that stop him from saving baby Kingston’s life. A police officer is NEVER off duty!

Nix administered CPR to the infant without any success. He knew that there wasn’t time to wait for the paramedics and he decided to immediately take the baby to the hospital in his squad car himself. It is a good thing that he did that because there wasn’t a moment to spare!

Crowell spoke of her gratitude to this hero police officer on Facebook. She wrote, “Let me just say that yesterday GOD showed me just how real he was. My son KING was barely breathing, & fighting for his life. … My sister & I noticed an officer sitting at a red light & we got his attention. With his fast thinking HE & GOD saved my son. His word to me was ‘Don’t you worry, I will not leave until I help save your son! GOD had me in the right place because he knew you needed me.”

The Marion County Sheriff also shared on social media that Officer Nix saved Kingston’s life. “Deputy Nix delivered the child to medical personnel, who then began treating the child. We are happy to report that baby Kingston is doing very well and doctors say he will make a full recovery!!” the department shared.

Dramatic video of this hero’s quick thinking has gone viral. In this era, when police officers are often viewed as targets, it is wonderful to see Officer Nix being praised for his heroism. It is wonderful to see a police officer being praised in this manner! You can see the viral video below.

A week after the rescue, Officer Nix was reunited with the family. “I am forever grateful. He was my baby’s guardian angel on earth,” the thankful mother tells “Inside Edition” in the video below.
