TV Exec Confirms Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing Revival’ Will Include His Conservative Views

Fans were furious when ABC cancelled Tim Allen’s conservative sitcom “Last Man Standing” last year. Since the show was dominating the ratings at the time of it’s cancellation, many believe that it was only cancelled because Allen’s character was an outspoken Trump supporter, which is a big no-no in the liberal world of Hollywood.

That’s why fans were ecstatic when Fox announced plans to bring “Last Man Standing” back, and another announcement has just been made that has them even more excited! Fox News reported that executives with the network have confirmed that Allen’s character will continue to be outspoken about his conservative views.

“I will say right now the producers’ plans are not to address whether or not he might be a Trump supporter,’” Fox Television Group CEO and Chairman Gary Newman told reporters at the 2018 Television Critics Associations’ Summer Press Tour today. He went on to add that Allen’s character, Mike Baxter, “clearly” is someone “with a conservative viewpoint.”

Allen, a proud conservative himself, has made it clear that he could not be more excited that the show is coming back. He issued the following statement when Fox announced plans to bring back the show:

“Excited? Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they call off the game. It leaves you sitting in the dugout, holding a bat and puzzled. Now we get the news from Fox that it’s time to get back out on that diamond – hell yes, I’m excited!”

When I heard the offer to create more episodes of ‘Last Man Standing,’ I did a fist pump so hard I threw my back out. It’s the fans! I could not be more grateful for the fans who wrote petitions and kept up the passion and incredible support for the show.

And a fist pump, ouch, for Dana Walden and Gary Newman at Fox for not only listening to the fans but for making the bold move to bring ‘Last Man Standing’ back. I’m sure audiences will be curious to see what we look like after all these years. Oh, has it only been one year? Well, just goes to show you – a lot can happen in a year.”

“Last Man Standing” infuriated liberals during the time it was on television because it had no fear of making fun of their obsession with political correctness. The clip below perfectly exemplifies just how fearless the show was in mocking liberal snowflakes.

Allen has previously been very outspoken about what it’s like to be a conservative in Hollywood, a place where Trump supporters are being blacklisted left and right.

“You’ve gotta be real careful around here,” Allen told late night host Jimmy Kimmel last year as he talked about attending the Trump inauguration. “You get beat up if don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘You know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’ I’m a comedian, I like going on both sides.”

It’s so refreshing to see a network stand behind a show that is not afraid to feature a conservative character. It’s time for Hollywood to start green lighting more series that represent the millions of conservatives in this great nation!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
