Hipster Company Is Banning Employees From Purchasing Major Food Group

Political correctness continues to take aim directly at American culture, but now it may have gone too far when one company recently banned its employees from eating meat. Not only does the business cater to vegans, it seems to want everyone to conform to veganism and has a department that is forcing employees to put down their steak knives.

WeWork sent an email to its 6,000 employees on Friday to explain the bizarre and controlling news. The shared workspace company announced it will no longer serve meat at company functions. It also won’t reimburse employees who attempt to expense work-related meals that include red meat, poultry or pork.

Many may assume this move has something to do with ethical concerns about animals, but that is not the case at all. Typical of leftists, this is driven by the almost religious belief in global warming. The company wants to reduce its carbon footprint by banning meat.

“New research indicates that avoiding meat is one of the biggest things an individual can do to reduce their personal environmental impact… even more than switching to a hybrid car,” WeWork’s chief culture officer Miguel McKelvey wrote in the memo announcing this change to employees.

Exemptions could be made based on “medical or religious reasons”  but these employees have to get approval from the company’s policy team. This company now has a food police and a board of people approving what employees eat! While businesses are permitted to establish their own guidelines, this is the ultimate hipster move!

Most Americans eat meat, but apparently, their ability to do so while working at WeWork is now strictly limited at the behest of the company’s culture department. If they want to seriously reduce their carbon footprint, they should ban flying on airplanes. But, hipsters don’t see things the way the rest of us do.

This company has declared war on meat eaters. Forbidding employees from eating meat while out for business meals is putting their people at a serious disadvantage. Imagine explaining to a client who is eating a steak that your company won’t allow you to do the same or won’t be paying for the client’s meal. That won’t be well received as it comes across as judgemental, because it is judgmental. Who is going to want to do business with a company that judges them and tells them what they should eat?

This far left corporate activism and virtue signaling might just be the demise of WeWork.
