HOA Forecloses Veteran’s Home And Spits On America In The Process

Like many veterans, Larry Murphree displays his patriotism by flying the American flag. This simple act put him at war with his Homeowner’s Association and ultimately caused him to lose his house.

The Air Force veteran was one of the first people to buy a home in Tides Condominiums at Sweetwater. He cut a ribbon during the opening ceremony in the over 55 community and was even nicknamed “Mayor.” But, that goodwill didn’t last very long after the HOA Board was elected and began a chokehold over homeowners in the development.

“One day I was thinking about the country and I put a small American flag on my front porch in a flower pot,” he said. “It’s a small flag but it stands for a big thank you.”

Murphree stuck a 17-inch American flag in a potted plant on his porch to support those who are currently serving in the military. The flag was egregious to the HOA and they began fining the veteran for displaying the Stars and Stripes. However, he refused to take the flag down and hired an attorney to fight the liberals drunk on power on his HOA board.

“I lost it,” Murphree said. “It just dawned on me there’s people that strap on a gun every day to protect me and the people I love. It’s a small flag, but it stands for a big thank you.”

He took the HOA to federal court over flying the American flag. They came to an agreement that would allow the flag to remain. But, the anti-American HOA tyrants raised the stakes by banning flower pots in an attempt to get Murphree to remove it anyway. It didn’t work.

The flag remained on the pot on his porch and the HOA began fining him $100 a day. Unbeknownst to Murphree, the HOA started using his HOA dues to cover the costs of the fines. Because of this, the HOA was able to foreclose his condo because his HOA dues hadn’t been paid. Murphree ultimately lost his house over his love of our country.

The tyrants chased an elderly veteran from his home and forced him to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process because they objected to his patriotism! They might as well put a sign out that no veterans are welcome to live there!
