Jon Gosselin was happy to spend Father’s Day with his daughter Hannah, but his seven other kids were noticeably missing in an Instagram photo he shared of the day. When asked where the others were, he made it rather clear that ex-wife Kate was roadblocking him from celebrating properly.
Kate and Jon’s divorce was rather public. She went out of her way to smear Jon. Many believe she intended to drive a wedge between Jon and their kids, though it doesn’t appear to have worked with Hannah. The father and daughter regularly post Instagram pictures together, yet Hannah hasn’t posted anything with Kate, leading many wondering if Jon finally has custody of Hannah.
On Father’s Day, Jon posted a picture with his girlfriend and Hannah. They were all smiles in the photo but things got interesting in the comments.
When Jon was told the other kids should be with him on Father’s Day, he actually responded. You don’t have to be Einstein to realize that Jon is referencing Kate. He replied, “should be is not always possible when “certain” people are involved and don’t want the best for their children.”
Hannah is clearly grateful to be with her dad. She shared a Father’s Day montage to commemorate the day. Interestingly, the young teen didn’t post anything for Kate on Mother’s Day.
These two appear to be throwing shade at Kate, but it might be very well deserved. Hannah made it known in 2016 that she didn’t want to be with Kate.
“She just didn’t want to go home. She wasn’t getting out of the car, she just had a fear, and I wasn’t going to discuss it at the end [of the] driveway,” Jon said at the time. “I’m like, ‘I’m taking Hannah back,’ and of course [Kate] flipped out. So I was like, ‘You know where I live, here’s my address again in case you forgot it. Kate called the cops and filed a police report against me.”
At least these two are together. It’s awful to keep a child away from loving parent. Perhaps next Father’s Day will be better.
