Chip Joanna Gaines

Chip and Joanna Gaines were recently accused of not putting their family first in a recent Op-Ed in USA Today. Daryl Austin wrote that he doesn’t believe the HGTV stars prioritized their children as their careers were rising. Chip Gaines was not going to give this journalist a pass for smearing his family!

The Gaineses recently walked away from their lucrative television show so they can have more time with their family. Joanna is currently pregnant with their fifth child and they didn’t want to be overburdened with the show. Their focus is their children.

But, that didn’t mean anything to Austin who decided to take aim at the Christian couple. They “did not get where they are by putting their family first,” he wrote. Apparently, Daryl Austin doesn’t believe you can be successful while properly raising a family.

Austin claimed to be a fan as he was slamming Chip and Joanna.

“There is much to be admired about them, including their commitments to their faith, marriage, family and community,” he penned. “There’s an important distinction, however, that I think their millions of fans and would-be imitators need to remember: Chip and Joanna Gaines did not get where they are now by putting their family first.”

“No matter how rich and famous, we are all limited by the same 24 hours in a day,” he lamented. “You cannot do all they’ve done (or even a fraction of it) and still have any real time left over for family. Frankly, I wonder where they even find the time to brush their teeth, let alone spend quality, one-on-one time with each child daily.”

Chip Gaines is not someone who will accept an attack on his family. He fired back in a tweet that quickly went viral as fans supported the “Fixer Upper” couple from this ridiculous attack.

“I dont know daryl, & he clearly doesnt know me,” Chip wrote in the tweet below. “But for the record: If there is ever a need w/ my family (1st), I’ll shut this circus down so fast it will make your head spin.”

Perhaps this writer was just looking for attention, but it wasn’t very good attention. He just looks like a keyboard bully taking aim at a Christian family.
