Simon Cowell didn’t appear to have high expectations and immediately asked the priest if he could perform an exorcism when a priest stepped on stage.

Britain’s Got Talent” judges and audience had a bit of a religious experience after hearing an Irish priest sing on the reality show competition.

Father Kelly Surprises the Judges

Father Kelly announced that he was going to sing “Everybody Hurts” by REM. He likes the song because as a priest, he understands that every person experiences pain during their lives. It’s a challenging song to sing, but this priest absolutely nailed it.

His sweet and calming tone embraced the entire audience. Father Kelly finished the song with a gentle and encouraging reminder. “You are not alone,” he said.

Cowell Gives Standing Ovation

After he finished, there was silence as everyone was touched and stunned that a 64-year-old priest could sing like that.

After a second, Simon stood on his feet and the rest of the auditorium did as well.

It takes a lot of talent to impress Simon Cowell. The blunt critic doesn’t mince words when he’s critiquing a singer. He said that Father Kelly’s performance was one of his favorite auditions.

Father Kelly said he wants to be the first priest to win “Britain’s Got Talent.” After watching him sing in the video below, you will probably expect him to do exactly that!

Father Kelly Sings at Wedding

God clearly gave Father Kelly the gift of song. It’s wonderful to see this man of God being embraced by all of these people.

Father Kelly became an internet sensation when a video of him singing at a wedding was posted on YouTube.

He changed up the lyrics of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” for this couple. It was such a touching performance that it has been viewed over 60 million times!
