A family in serious crisis turned to Dr. Phil for help in dealing with their violent 12-year-old daughter who has her siblings and parents on edge and afraid for their lives.
They have taken their daughter to treatment centers seventeen times. They tried to send her to a residential boarding school, but she beat the host mother.
“Our 12-year-old daughter, Aneska, looks very cute and innocent, but she holds our family in a constant state of crisis,” Aneska’s mother, Melanie, told Dr. Phil. “[She] is explosive, violent and aggressive. She lies, she steals and she doesn’t respect authority.”
One hallmark of psychopaths is killing animals. At age 8, Aneska killed the family hamster with a flashlight. Her mom reports that Aneska was happy as she was killing the hamster. She also killed a nestful of baby birds with her bare hands. She has even tried to kill her siblings with a knife.

Aneska’s siblings also asked Dr. Phil for help. It must be horrifying for these children. Imagine being unable to sleep because you are concerned that your sister will kill you in your bed.
Aneska ends up telling Dr. Phil and her mom that she can live with her siblings on one condition – if they stay away from her. The living situation she describes below isn’t a realistic one.
Aneska explained that she hears voices that tell her to harm her siblings. She also said a soldier who died in battle used to come and visit her to try to calm her down. Hear Aneska describe this in the video below.
Her parents, Melanie and Dave, said these problems began when Aneska was 3 years old and fell off her tricycle, landing on her face. “It was like somebody had flipped a switch,” Dave notes. “Aneska was a totally different child.”
Dr. Phil ordered brain scans. They revealed some serious abnormalities and lack of brain flow in certain areas of the brain. As a result, Aneska’s doctor removed her from anti-psychotic medication and is pursuing another avenue of treatment.
This family is clearly in a crisis situation. It’s alarming to think of the harm Aneska could cause her family and others, especially as she gets older. Hopefully, the doctors figure out the proper treatment for her.
