Rumors Fly That Bindi Irwin Got Engaged; Would Steve Approve?

There are many unanswered questions for children whose parents die at a young age. Bindi Irwin is one of those kids. Her dad, Steve Irwin, died in 2006 after being stung in the heart by a stingray. Many children in this situation often wonder if their deceased parent would approve of their significant other. In Bindi’s case, she and her family believe the answer to that question is a resounding YES.

Bindi met Chandler Powell in 2013 when he visited the Australia Zoo with his family. Not only has this couple survived the perils of dating during their teenage years, but they did it while living on separate continents. After physical separation for years, Powell, who is from Florida, moved to Austalia in January. The pair has been inseparable ever since.

Chandler is currently working at the Austalia Zoo. He’s doing the things that Steve would likely approve of. He’s taking care of crocodiles and other creatures at the family-run zoo. It’s also interesting that Bindi has followed her father’s lead by falling in love with an American.

Bindi reports that not only do her mom and brother approve of Chandler, they are sure the Crocodile Hunter would as well. “Mum and Robert and I have talked about that a lot. We think dad would have loved Chandler,” the 19-year-old said.

Now that Chandler is in Australia, rumors are flying that the couple is engaged. A cryptic tweet from Bindi’s mom Terri is helping fuel this fire. She said that Bindi’s lifetime of kissing frogs has paid off since she now has Chandler. Does that mean she found her prince and is making it official?

Bindi and Chandler share pictures on Instagram frequently. Bindi’s family is often in the pictures, showing that both Robert and Terri approve of the relationship. This couple is clearly smitten with each other.
