Sadie Robertson allows her strong Christian faith to guide her through challenging situations in life. It brings her peace in the most volatile situations. The “Duck Dynasty” star learned this first hand while in Somalia with her mom Korie.

“It is the most dangerous place in the world, and I’m sitting [there] and there’s a bomb threat, there’s shooting all around and there’s a terrorist attack happening and yet I have peace. How do I have peace?” Robertson remembered.

@legitsadierob and I were asked to help deliver food to 50,000 people in the midst of a severe drought in Somalia along with @bobgoff @michaeldeanmcdonald @lovedoes and @worldfoodprogramme_official so of course we said YES! We spent 3 days there and fell in love. The hope-filled work being done in a difficult place was incredibly inspiring, life-changing. We flew out of Mogadishu yesterday morning and landed in Istanbul to find out that there was a massive truck bomb (not even a mile from our hotel) just after our plane took off that shook the entire city. Heartbroken! Reports say it’s the worst the city has ever experienced. I’m almost home now and still can’t find the words. The death toll continues to rise. It was at 276 the last report I saw. Thinking of our new friends there. The mamas, babies, teenagers…strong, kind, beautiful people. I had a post written before we learned of this tragedy that I’ll save for another day. For now, asking for prayers for the victims, their families, our friends. The country is in mourning. God be with them. #prayformogadishu “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭12:5‬

“I was faced with literally everything I had ever been afraid of,” the “Duck Dynasty” star reported. However, rather than letting fear take over, the event caused her to “become more confident in my journey to becoming fearless.”

Sadie had just finished completing her book “Live Fearlessly” when she left for her trip to Somalia in October 2017. She found the timing rather poignant given the fact that being in that country put her directly in situations where she had to live up to the title of her book.

“I think that I always thought that being fearless would be an absence of fear, but in Somalia, I realized that wasn’t actually the case,” she told Fox. “Because being fearless is actually being in the presence of where fear is but yet having peace.”

“It’s being in the face of fear and yet you have peace,” she continued. “And you say, ‘Although I see what’s in front of me, I choose to believe that my God’s bigger, my God’s better.’”

God certainly was looking out for Sadie and her mom Korie. Just one hour after they left Somalia, the country experienced its worst terror attack.

“What I found in that is freedom over fear, I found joy in the most bizarre places, peace that surpasses all understanding,” she explained. “A confidence that I never thought I would have when I was in the most insecure place. And so for me, that’s just unshakable.”
