17 “Bad” Movies That Deserve a Second Chance

Death to Smoochy (2002)

Death to Smoochy might be the ultimate “actually good, but no one gave it a chance” movie. This comedy starring Edward Norton, Robin Williams, Hank Azaria, Danny Devito, and Catherine Keener was critically panned.

When a kids show host, Rainbow Randolph, is fired in disgrace he watches his replacement, Smoochy the Rhino, rise to mega stardom. Rainbow Randolph makes it his mission to take down Smoochy, showing the dark side of the colorful children’s business. Unfortunately this movie didn’t do well at the box office and had a very lukewarm reception from critics, but it has a steady cult following that insist everyone give it another chance.
