The Carolina Reaper pepper is the hottest pepper in the world. With 2.2 million Scoville units, it will stop you in your tracks. To put that in perspective, a Tabasco pepper has 50,000 Scoville units. A Carolina Reaper is not something to mess around with.
But, that is exactly what two teen girls did. Lizzy Wurst’s video of her and her friend eating Carolina Reaper peppers has gone viral because their reactions are so intense. This video should prove as a warning not to try this. It is rather alarming to watch what happens after they accept this very hot challenge.
While both girls had awful reactions, Sabrina had an asthma attack from the intensity of the pepper. What is surprising is that the parents sat there and watched it. It was even filmed! I certainly would not encourage my children to do this, especially an asthmatic! It’s not worth a trip to the hospital or even worse!

I was really worried about Sabrina. I figured she’d end up at the hospital. They were seeking attention and they got it. Lizzy’s Youtube channel certainly grew after this went viral because this video alone got over 3.5 million views in just over a week! However, common sense should tell you that YouTube fame isn’t worth risking your life over. That’s exactly what these girls did with their parent’s encouragement!
They aren’t the only ones taking pepper YouTube challenges. A Scout Master ate 23 ghost peppers to raise money for scholarships. Those are the 7th hottest peppers in the world and he had 23 of them!
