In many instances Joanna Jedrzejczyk appreciates the comparisons she receives to Ronda Rousey.
After her loss at UFC 217, she wasn’t in the mood to hear another.
Jedrzejczyk took exception to questions directed towards her at the post-fight interview regarding Rousey and the now-former champion after suffering her first career loss. Jedrzejczyk was stopped by Rose Namajunas, costing her the strawweight title.
“This happens to all the greats,” she said. “Don’t compare me to Ronda Rousey.”
After Rousey dropped the title to Holly Holm, she disappeared for over a year. In her return to the Octagon, she was stopped by Amanda Nunes and now appears done with her fighting career.
The loss was an emotional one for Jedrzejczyk, but she added “I may be crying now, but I’m not going to cry about this. I will be back stronger.”
