It is an important day for the Royal Family as Prince George went to school for the first time. The future King of England arrived at Thomas’s Battersea with his father. His mother is ill with extreme morning sickness caused by her third pregnancy and was unable to attend George’s first day of school.

Royal watchers have been anticipating this day as Catherine and William had to make an official decision on what William’s name would be. He is now George Cambridge. It is a tradition that royals take the surname of their father’s titles. William is William Wales since his father is the Prince of Wales. So, George Wales was also an option, but instead, Catherine and William went with tradition and chose Cambridge since they are now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
George showed up to school dressed in the official school uniform, navy shorts and sweater, long black socks, and black shoes. An adorable video of George arriving at school for his first day is below.
Prince William‘s father never accompanied him to school. The fact that William took George for his first day shows the different parenting styles between the two fathers. He clearly subscribes to a similar parenting style as his mother, Princess Diana.
