Prince William did something recently that would likely bring his mother to tears. The Duke of Cambridge accompanied the Queen to visit victims and volunteers affected by the massive Grenfell apartment fire that claimed at least 79 victims.

All of Britain was shocked and horrified at this loss of life. Emotions were high during the Royal visit with the Queen and the future King. That’s when William broke royal protocol and hugged a woman whose husband was still missing. Royals are only supposed to shake hands, so this was out of the ordinary.

William is his mother’s son after all. This is what we would have expected Princess Diana to do. Her care and compassion changed how many of us viewed the Royal Family. William clearly is following in her footsteps.
