Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey is consuming parts of the Gulf of Mexico and barreling towards Texas. It is projected to make landfall in Corpus Christi on Friday or Saturday.

By that time, it will likely be a Category 3 hurricane with winds of at least 111 miles per hour.

“Harvey is likely to bring multiple hazards, including heavy rainfall, storm surge, and possible hurricane conditions to portions of the Texas coast beginning on Friday,” the National Weather Service said.

Harvey is expected to dump 10-20 inches of rain in its path. In some areas, it could be as much as 30 inches. Rainfall increases when a storm is moving slower, as Harvey has been doing.

More information from the Weather Channel is in the video below.

Texans need to take this storm seriously. Governor Greg Abbott already declared a state of disaster in the 30 counties along the Gulf. Flooding is a major concern.

Harvey will be the first hurricane to hit Texas since 2008. Please pray for those in its path.
