Ami Brown’s Brother Desperate To Speak With Her After 38 Year Estrangement

While Alaskan Bush People matriarch Ami Brown fights for her life against stage 4 lung cancer, some people she has avoided for decades are trying to re-emerge into her life.

Ami hasn’t had contact with her family in 38 years. Her family didn’t approve of her marriage to Billy when she was 15 and there hasn’t been any contact since. Fans might find this surprising since Ami is such a devoted mother, but sometimes family relationships can be so complex that it’s hard for outsiders to understand the estrangement.

Ami’s brother Les Branson claims that Billy won’t allow Ami to contact him or their mother Eugene Branson. Their mother is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and she is desperate to see her estranged daughter.

Les has contacted Discovery Channel in an attempt to locate the Browns. He claims if they know where Ami is, they will just show up. Les is claiming that Billy blocks all contact from them.

Ami’s brother has taken to Facebook in an attempt to reach out to her. But, his continual bashing of Billy is probably not helping his goal of reunification.

In the Facebook group Alaskan Bush People – The Facts – The Fair, he wrote, “In the end I have only Facebook to send a message, hoping somehow Ami will know that we cannot even write her as she suggested, and to tell her how much we still love her, and how much we have missed her, and how sorry we are we couldn’t do more.”

“Billy wanted Ami all to himself. He wanted to isolate Ami and keep her from her family and he has successfully done so for 38 years,” Les said. “To see my sister Ami in pain on national television, and to hear from many Alaskans how Billy has treated Ami those 38 years, has caused me many a sleepless night.”

Ami is the focus of the Brown family. It’s hard to imagine the allegations made by Ami’s brother to be true. His timing of publicly skewering Billy as Ami is fighting for his life could potentially do even more harm to the estrangement.
