Fans were excited to hear that CMT was considering picking up Last Man Standing after ABC dropped the hit conservative sitcom. But that dream has fallen flat as the network says they were unable to come to an agreement on financials for the show.
Tim Allen said he was “stunned and blindsided by the network [he] called home for the last six years,” dropped his hit show Last Man Standing. The show always performed very well, so it was a bit of a shock when ABC suddenly dropped the money maker. Many believed the cancelation was politically motivated since the show was a ratings bonanza.
20th Century Fox is continuing to shop for a new network for the hit show. NBC has taken a pass. These networks are turning down a proven ratings winner so it’s easy to understand why people suspect this is politically motivated. It appears executives at the major networks don’t want to give airtime promoting conservative values even in a sitcom!
Perhaps the video below of Tim Allen talking about liberal snowflakes on Last Man Standing was the straw that broke the camel’s back for these executives.
It seems pretty obvious to me that they just didn’t want a successful show that laughed at the #Resistance.
