A Georgia corrections officer owes his life to six prison inmates he was charged with watching.
Six Polk County inmates were cleaning up a cemetery when the correction officer began having medical distress. These inmates first removed the officer’s gun belt in case they had to give him CPR. These prisoners had access to a gun and a vehicle, but instead of fleeing they called an ambulance and stayed with the officer.
You don’t hear a lot of good stories about inmates, but this sure is one of them! In the video below, the inmates describe the ordeal. “When that happened, in my opinion, it wasn’t about who is in jail and who wasn’t,” one of the inmates said. “It was about a man going down and we had to help him.”
The Polk County Sheriff’s Officer posted gratitude on Facebook. This situation could have been horrific, but instead of fleeing they decided to save this man’s life.
Share this if you are proud of these inmates for doing the right thing!
