Woman Dresses As Target Employee, Steals 40 Thousand Dollars Worth Of iPhones

A woman dressed as a Target employee walked into an Alexandria, Virginia, store, went straight to the storage room, and stole $40,000 worth of iPhones.

Police are now searching for her and have asked the public for help identifying this thief.

I don’t know about you, but this sounds like an inside job to me. Why were iPhones available for anyone to take like that? They are expensive and there were tens of thousands of dollars worth of them waiting to be grabbed. Did an employee leave them unsecured for this woman to take?

Police in Virginia are looking to identify a woman who impersonated a Target employee so that she could steal over $40,000 worth of iPhones.

Investigators say on March 15 an unidentified woman walked into a Target store in Alexandria dressed as an employee. The woman gained access to the store’s stock room, where she placed over $40,000 worth of iPhones in a box and then left.

Fairfax County police say in a statement the suspect is not affiliated with the store, but appears to have knowledge of store procedures, employee hours and the location of the iPhones in the stockroom.

This seems all very suspicious to me. Fairfax County, Virginia police released surveillance video of the theft. You can see watch clips from the crime in the video below.

Something seems fishy to me. Target stores have cameras everywhere!

At the top-right part of the footage, you can see her accomplice pull out of the parking spot. I would bet dollars-to-donuts the driver works at that store. Target confirmed the woman is not an employee, but said that she clearly had some knowledge about the inner workings and procedures that helped her commit this crime.
