People across the country have been praying for Maddie Spears following a horrific ATV accident that ended with her being submerged in a pond. Those prayers appear to have been answered as Jamie Lynn Spears’s daughter has regained consciousness and is now talking.
Jamie Lynn and her husband were just 100 yards away from Maddie when she swerved to miss a ditch and ended up in the water. They both jumped and tried to free her from the seatbelt and safety netting to no avail. Two minutes later, an ambulance service arrived and was able to free the 8 year old.
It looked grim for the little girl as she was taken to a New Orleans hospital, but a family statement released on Wednesday is more than encouraging.
The statement read, “With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness. Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking. Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident.”
What a miracle! Aunt Britney Spears has headed home to Louisiana to be with her family.
