Farmer’s Almanac Predictions Are Out For This Winter- Doesn’t Look Good!

The Farmer’s Almanac has been in use since 1792. This longstanding reference book helps predict long term weather.

While today’s meteorologists often scoff off the predictions, the Almanac boasts an 80% accuracy rate. How often can you say that about your local weatherman?

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, you might want to buy some new hats and gloves; this winter is going to be brutal.

Every region of the U.S. will be hit with a different type of terrible. The Northeast and Midwest can expect “colder than normal” temperatures and precipitation is supposed to be “above normal.” If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, you can expect a lot of rain and chilly weather. And in the Intermountain and Appalachian regions, where ski enthusiasts would actually like cold temperatures and lots of snow, it’s set to largely be warmer and less snowy than usual. Great.

The south will have a mild winter. Florida might be a busier destination that usual.
