Americans were unified immediately following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. You could see it everywhere. Flags were waving and amid the tears, there was a lot of patriotism.
The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum just released never before seen photos from that day. And that got me remembering other things about that time. Something that made a big impression on me was a Budweiser ad during the Super Bowl just a handful of months after the attacks.
The Super Bowl was even more important that year than ever. People were concerned about terrorist attacks, but the game went on since we don’t accommodate the acts terrorists in America. And that’s why the Budweiser ad still stands out as my favorite ad all these years later.
The ad with the patriotic Clydesdales only aired that one time, but it’s so beautiful that it’s hard to forget it. Did you know there were two takes of the ad? Check them both out.
This ad really hits me in the feelings. It’s a slice of Americana and reflects how so many of us were feeling at that time.
Please share this if it’s one of your favorite ads. We must never forget!
