Gary Sinise, wounded warriors

Actor Gary Sinise has been a great help to many veterans. Sinise is proud of our military and honors the sacrifices made by those who put on the uniform.

Sinise has very generously helped out a number of Wounded Warriors. The Lt. Dan Band has been raising money to help these men and women adjust to society. The mission of The Gary Sinise Foundation is as follows:

To serve and honor our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need by creating and supporting unique programs that entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities. Of its many outreach efforts, the Gary Sinise Foundation is building custom Smart Homes for severely wounded veterans, serving hearty meals to deploying troops and hosting spirit-boosting festivals for patients, families and medical staff at military hospitals.

Sgt. Nick Kimmel was wounded serving overseas. Now a triple amputee, he had trouble getting around his home. Doorways were too narrow and it was challenging to even open blinds. The Marine often sat in darkness, but no more of that.

The Gary Sinise Foundation gifted Kimmel a smart home that will enable him to live more independently. Check out his new home and Kimmel’s continued devotion to our country in the video below.

Marine Staff Sgt. Jason Ross had to have 240 surgeries after being injured by an IED during his second deployment to Afghanistan. Sinise was intent on helping improve Ross’s life.

His foundation gave scholarships to both of Ross’s daughters. Ross also got a home from the Gary Sinise Foundation. Video of their home presentation is below.

Gary Sinise is a great example to all of us. He doesn’t accept any praise for his work either. He says we can never do enough to thank our veterans.
