The jaw-dropping new true crime docuseries is finally here, and fans can’t wait to start watching. The network is airing a new three-part true crime documentary series called The Mortician, and it’s a chilling series that uncovers the dark secrets behind a seemingly respectable, family-run funeral home.

The show focuses on the Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena, California, which was known for decency and propriety, until the early 1980s when David Sconce, heir to the Lamb legacy, took control of the business and launched a disturbing campaign to boost profits by exploiting the dead in increasingly unethical and inhumane ways.

While offering cremations at just $55, Sconce’s business flourished, but he was only able to do that by grotesque methods, including mass cremations in ceramic kilns, theft, and the sale of corpses’ jewelry, dental filings, and organs.

Along with exploring the funeral home, the show will also explore the mortuary industry as a whole in hopes of illuminating what happens behind closed doors.

Not only will the documentary series interview Sconce, who was recently released from prison. “I don’t put any value in anybody after they’re dead and gone,” says David Sconce during an interview in The Mortician.

Viewers will also see commentary from his ex-wife Barbara Hunt, mortician Jolena Grande, mortuary owners Jay Brown and Elie Estephan, and even Lamb Funeral home victims.

But wondering how to stream The Mortician? The show has already come out on June 1 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET, with the second episode releasing at the same time on June 8, and the last episode releasing same time on June 15.
