Here’s an in-depth look at how to stream Wicked at home and what to expect when watching the musical.
If you’re unfamiliar with the movie, Wicked is an adaptation of the long-running acclaimed Broadway musical sharing the same name — which is inspired by the novel. The musical acts as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz.
The 2025 Oscar-winner is set in the Land of Oz, before Dorothy arrives from Kansas, and follows Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and her friendship with her classmate Galinda, who becomes Glinda the Good.

Wicked follows the first act of the film, with a direct sequel, Wicked: For Good, covering the second act in the fall of 2025. The film’s sound mixer Simon Hayes says that it should feel like one big film, as they “didn’t treat the two parts in any different way, and it just meant there was a cohesiveness in the way we told the story from a filmmaking perspective.”

The cast features great stars as well, with the leading roles going to Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande playing Galinda Upland. Other familiar faces in the musical include Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum.
Wondering how to stream Wicked now that it’s easily accessible?
Thankfully, viewers can stream Wicked exclusively on Peacock alongside bonus features, including a sing-along version of the film, a collection of deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes, and more.
Peacock offers two monthly subscriptions for views, a Premium option ($7.99 a month with ads) and a Premium Plus option ($13.99 a month with no ads). Students have the option to find discounted offers, like the Premium subscription for only $2.99 for the entire year.
