The second half of the fifth and final season of Yellowstone is currently airing on Sunday nights on Paramount. Allegedly!

The internet abounds with rumor now that an executive producer for the show dropped some cryptic comments about the future.

Is Yellowstone Really Ending?

Yellowstone has been one of the most popular shows on television ever since it premiered back in 2018. Fans have been left devastated by the prospect of this beloved show ending. That’s why they’re feeling very excited after a Yellowstone executive producer indicated that the show may not be done after all!

“I think this last batch of episodes leads us to the end of an era,” director and executive producer Christina Alexandra Voros told Variety earlier this week.

“It’s impossible to talk about it in any detail without tipping my hat toward things to come,” she added cryptically.

“But I think [co-creator and writer] Taylor [Sheridan] has managed to — and I’m really not sure how he’s done it, I think it’s sort of masterful — bring the ending to something that feels both shocking and fated at the same time,” Voros continued. “You need to get to the end of the story to fully understand everything that has come before.”

Backstory: ‘Yellowstone’ Rumored To Be Coming Back For Surprise Sixth Season With Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser Starring

‘Not Necessarily’ The End For Yellowstone

This comes after Ian Bohen, who plays Ryan the ranch hand, told The New York Post earlier the month that “it’s not necessarily” the end for Yellowstone.

It was first reported back in August by multiple outlets that a sixth season of Yellowstone could be in the works. This season would focus on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). At the time, sources told Deadline that Reilly and Hauser have been in negotiations for months.

Since Ryan and Rip work together closely, Bohen would potentially have a big role in season six if it were to happen.

While Bohen didn’t confirm it, he made a point of saying that the story of Yellowstone is “continuing; it’s a saga.”

Bohen added, “Maybe there’s a future that you want to continue.”

When asked if he’d heard about a future for Yellowstone, Bohan would only reply with, “I have.” However, he declined to reveal anything else.

“We’ll have to see what unfolds,” he concluded.

Hauser And Reilly Weigh In

Hauser weighed in on this earlier this month.

“You never know whether it’s coming to an end or not, so we’ll see,” Hauser told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I think what [creator] Taylor [Sheridan] wrote and the way that he kind of suited it all up, it’s wonderful and if it ends, then it ends. It’s been one hell of a run, it’s been one of my favorite jobs.”

Hauser went on to say that he would be “interested” in continuing to play Rip for a sixth season.

“You can go on forever about these two,” he said of Rip and Beth. “There’s no walls when it comes to them, no limits. As long as Taylor wants to write something special, I know Kelly and I would be interested to do it.”

As for Reilly, she’s made it clear that she’s “definitely interested” in continuing on as well.

“I am definitely interested in Beth, and who she is after some things have happened,” Reilly told Town & Country Magazine earlier in November. “Who is she in peace? As an actor you’re like, ‘Ooh, let me at that.’ Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”

What’s being called the Yellowstone series finale, for now, is set to air on Paramount on December 15. Here’s hoping that a sixth season really does happen, because we’re not ready for this show to end!
