Greg Daniels (The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You) co-created the series, also serving as showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas also serve as executive producers.
The series comes from Universal Television, a division of the Universal Studio Group.
When Does The Paper Premiere?
The Paper premieres on Peacock with four episodes on September 4th. After the premiere, episodes will run weekly.
Notable Parts of the Trailer
The trailer opens with a line of text informing the audience that “Several years ago, a documentary crew filmed the story of Dunder Mifflin. Now they’ve found a new subject.” The newspaper obviously struggles, with many of the volunteer writers having little to no experience.
When the new editor-in-chief, Ned, asks, “How many of you have actually written for a paper before?” the answers are less than promising. One staffer comments, “I wrote a paper in junior high,” while another says, “I’ve tweeted.” Yikes. This company has a long way to go, but it should be very entertaining to watch.
