South Park is in its 27th season, premiering on Comedy Central on July 30th, 2025.

However, this season is a little different. While it still retains its satirical style, the 10-episode season initially faced scheduling challenges, including a delayed premiere and bi-weekly episode releases.

According to the official website, the episodes are being released every other week at 10 pm ET on Wednesdays, which should continue through at least episode five of the season.

The most current episode released for season 27 is “Wok is Dead,” the fourth episode of the season. It aired on September 3rd on Comedy Central. The episode centers around Butters as he confronts the realities of tariffs while trying to purchase a Labubu doll for his girlfriend’s birthday.

This once again shows the continued engagement with timely social and economic issues within South Park, all translated into satirical humor.

Looking forward, the fifth episode will air on Wednesday, September 17th at 10 pm ET on Comedy Central. It will stream the following day on Paramount+. The staggered release allows viewers in the United States to enjoy the newest episodes a day after their television debut, rather than waiting weeks or months.

In earlier seasons of South Park, episodes were released weekly; however, season 27’s breaks and delays forced a different release schedule. Despite the hiccups, the show seems to be settling into the bi-weekly schedule.

South Park’s Streaming Presence

South Park’s streaming presence has shifted, too. In a July 2025 deal, the series’s entire back catalog, along with 50 new episodes, is now available on Comedy Central and Paramount+, replacing its previous home on HBO Max. This multi-year agreement ensures the future of the series beyond its 30th season.

The deal also included a financial commitment of $1.5 billion, proving the show’s enduring cultural and commercial value.

Paramount Plus Plans

For those who want to stream episodes of South Park, Paramount+ offers the show under two plans: Essential and Premium. The Essential plan costs $8/month with ads and limited Showtime programming. The Premium plan costs $12.99/month with no ads and access to Showtime content and other live events.

For those who want to save when subscribing, Paramount is currently holding a major fall promotion, cutting prices by 50% on annual subscriptions for both plans.

Internationally, Paramount+ synchronizes episode releases based on regional time zones, providing broad global access. Plus, live TV streaming options such as Sling TV, Philo, and YouTube TV allow fans to watch new episodes without cable, reflecting the changing landscape of television consumption.

Despite the difficulties within the release schedule, South Park continues to be a central focus in the animated world. While the creators delayed the season’s start to avoid immediate parody of the 2024 U.S. Presidential election, President Donald Trump does appear as a recurring character.

As South Park continues into its 27th season, fans have a lot to look forward to.
