When Will American Horror Story Season 3 Premiere?
The new season of American Horror Story has not begun production yet.
It was renewed for the 13th season in January 2020, when the 1984 season prompted a three-season renewal. Previous seasons of the show have premiered in the fall, leaning into the spooky vibes.
Seasons 1 through 5 and Season 11 premiered in October, while Seasons 6 through 9 and Season 12 premiered in September. Season 10 only premiered in August due to COVID delays.
It stands to reason that American Horror Story season 13 will come out in the fall.
What is Season 13 About?
Unlucky thirteen. Or, perhaps, lucky thirteen when it comes to American Horror Story’s newest season.
A number often associated with dark symbolism, it makes sense that the show will go all out to deliver a deliciously creepy 13th season. However, no official logline has been released yet.
In 2021, Murphy held an online poll to vote on potential themes, including murderous mermaids, the Wild West, Bloody Mary, etc. The top three themes were sirens, Bloody Mary, and a plague theme.

Cast Joining American Horror Story Season 13
As of June 2025, no cast announcements have been released.
In an interview with Variety in 2024, Murphy hinted at a return to the show’s roots with the original cast. “I did have a wonderful conversation with Sarah Paulson the other day, and she was like, ‘Okay, I think it’s time we get the band back together, so let’s make some calls here.”
Frequent actors and actresses on the show include Paulson, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Finn Wittrock, Billie Lourd, and Angela Bassett, just to name a few.
Will There Be a Crossover From Past Seasons?
American Horror Story loves its crossovers. Writers often throw in references or recurring characters, tying seasons to each other.
For instance, the character Pepper appeared in both Freak Show and Asylum. Or, when Queenie, who first appeared in Coven, reappeared in Hotel to meet a temporary demise at the hands of James March.
The real merging occurred in Apocalypse, as characters and storylines from Murder House and Coven interacted with each other.
For season 13, Ryan Murphy has hinted at another possible crossover, commenting in 2018 that “The witches will be back.” Will we get another season of witchcraft? Who knows.
