Singer Taylor Swift got political once again this week when she viciously attacked Tennessee’s Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn in her new Netflix documentary “Miss Americana,” which was released today.
Swift Blasts Blackburn
In the documentary, Swift becomes emotional as she opens up about her decision to speak out about politics publicly for the first during the 2018 midterm elections. She tried to ensure Blackburn would not win, but was unsuccessful. Swift had previously spent years staying politically neutral. That changed when she endorsed Blackburn’s opponent in a shocking Instagram post, saying that the Republican’s voting record “appalls and terrifies me.”

Swift Reacts To Blackburn Win
The documentary shows Swift reacting to Blackburn’s election victory, saying that she”can’t believe it.”
“She gets to be the first female senator in Tennessee, and she’s Trump in a wig,” Swift said. “She represents no female interests. She won by being a female applying to the kind of female males want us to be in a horrendous 1950s world.”
Not stopping there, Swift blasted Blackburn for her 2013 vote against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and stance against same-sex marriage.
“It’s really basic human rights, and it’s right and wrong at this point, and I can’t see another commercial and see her disguising these policies behind the words ‘Tennessee Christian values,'” Swift said as she began to tear up. “Those aren’t Tennessee Christian values. I live in Tennessee. I am Christian. That’s not what we stand for.”
After learning of Swift’s comments about her, Blackburn responded by saying, “Of course I support women and I want violence to end against women.”
Swift Praises Obama, Opens Up About Hillary
Since 2018, Swift has become an outspoken leftwing celebrity, speaking out about politics whenever she has the chance. In September, she gave an interview in which she reminisced about Barack Obama’s presidency. And, she revealed why she was reluctant to publicly endorse Hillary Clinton in 2016.
“We were in such an amazing time when Obama was president because foreign nations respected us. We were so excited to have this dignified person in the White House,” she said. “My first election was voting for him when he made it into office, and then voting to re-elect him. I think a lot of people are like me, where they just didn’t really know that this could happen. But I’m just focused on the 2020 election. I’m really focused on it. I’m really focused on how I can help and not hinder. Because I also don’t want it to backfire again, because I do feel that the celebrity involvement with Hillary’s campaign was used against her in a lot of ways.”

It’s unfortunate that Swift has decided to betray the millions of conservative fans who helped her get her start in country music when she was just a teenager. Without them, she would never be where she is today. These days, she’s just another out-of-touch member of the liberal elite in the entertainment world. It’s a real shame.
