New reports are coming in stating that Amazon has flagged the classic 1980s television show “Dukes Of Hazzard” for internal review. The retail giant is weighing removing the beloved family show from its streaming library because the Dukes’ iconic General Lee is emblazoned with the confederate flag.

Amazon Feels Pressure To Remove ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’

Fox News reported that the series, which ran on CBS from 1979-1985, follows the misadventures of brothers Bo and Luke Duke in their small town of Hazzard County, Georgia.

With racial tensions at an all-time high these days, the action-comedy series is in the hot seat over the fact the Duke brothers’ famous car The General Lee has the confederate flag on its roof.

TV Land pulled reruns of the show in 2015 for the same reason. Also in 2015, American golfer Bubba Watson announced plans to paint over the confederate flag on the actual car that was used on the show.

“All men ARE created equal, I believe that so I will be painting the American flag over the roof of the General Lee,” tweeted Watson, who owns The General Lee.

“The Dukes of Hazzard” made a quiet comeback on Amazon streaming in 2018 after facing backlash in 2015 for its confederate reference. Reruns of the hit show can currently be viewed in its library for free.

Now, Amazon might reverse its decision and pull the show in wake of confederate statues being toppled, NASCAR’s confederate flag ban, and other platforms opting to pull content like Gone With The Wind, “COPS,” and “Live PD”.

If even Paw Patrol has the attention of the Black Lives Matter movement, I’d guess “Dukes Of Hazzard” doesn’t stand a chance.

HBO Max Removes ‘Gone With The Wind’

Earlier this week, we reported that HBO Max decided to remove the 1939 movie Gone With The Wind from its library because of the way the movie depicts slavery.

A spokesperson for HBO Max told CNN that the movie is “a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society.”

“These racist depictions were wHBO Decision To Blacklist ‘Gone With The Wind’ Backfires When This Key Fact Comes To Lightrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible,” the spokesperson continued, adding that the film “will return with a discussion of its historical context and a denouncement of those very depictions,” and will be presented “as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed.”

“If we are to create a more just, equitable and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history,” the spokesperson concluded.

Kayleigh McEnany Blasts HBO

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has since spoken out to blast HBO for the decision, saying, “Where do you draw the line here? I’m told you can no longer find on HBO, Gone With The Wind because somehow that is now offensive.”

It’s truly sad to see beloved pieces of entertainment like “Dukes Of Hazzard” and Gone With The Wind being erased just to satisfy race-baiting liberals.

We can only imagine when this madness will end, and what is targeted by the left as being “offensive” next.
