British television host Piers Morgan let loose on Prince Harry on Monday. However, it wasn’t because the ex-Royals severed ties with four UK tabloids — although, that might have stung a bit.
Morgan was infuriated with Harry’s comments on a podcast as he appeared to accuse the media of exaggerating about coronavirus.
And, the U.K. Express reported that their feud with the media was only worsened when Harry recently described that COVID-19 crisis as “better” than the media were making it out to be.
Prince Harry Slams Media On COVID-19 Coverage
Here’s what Harry said:
“I think what has happened especially in the UK is the very best of the human spirit and it’s proving that things are better than we are led to believe through certain corners of the media,” Harry said. “Certainly when you’re in isolation it can be very worrying when you’re sitting there and the only information you’re getting is from certain news channels. But then if you’re out and about and you’re on the right platforms you can really sense this human spirit coming to the forefront.”

This enraged Morgan, who said that if he were to meet Harry, he would remind him that “the world is in a war at the moment with a killer virus that is destroying lives.”
“And what was Harry’s contribution to this debate other than making it all about him again?” Morgan said. “It was actually to do this in a podcast to claim that we are all exaggerating this war.”
After reporting on the latest coronavirus death numbers, Morgan said, “Thank God the British media is showing the reality of this.”
“I don’t want to hear from these two if they want to announce a new war with the media. Shut up, seriously,” he added, referring to Meghan and Harry.
Morgan is fed up:
Interesting to see so many previously diehard ‘LEAVE THESE SAINTS ALONE!’ Meghan/Harry fans turning on them over their latest absurd me-me-me antics. The world’s changed & people have zero tolerance for whiny rich privileged pampered celebrities during this #Coronavirus crisis. pic.twitter.com/irx3wO7e69

Morgan retweeted this sentiment about Meghan and Harry also:
Whoever is advising the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should be aware that the UK is facing a devastating daily death toll and 6.5million unemployed due to the lockdown. We don’t give a ***k about which newspapers are and aren’t allowed to pay homage to them.

Morgan also hit out at Harry on Twitter:
Prince Harry, from his Hollywood mansion, accusing the media of exaggerating the scale of this crisis in Britain is contemptible.
It’s the media that is exposing the real scale of it as our death toll rockets to highest in Europe & over 60 health workers have now died.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 19, 2020
Clearly, there is no love lost between, Morgan and these former royals.
Here’s another tweet:
How does this deluded twerp know how bad things are in Britain from his Malibu mansion?
Did he call his father, who got the virus? https://t.co/uAxmfQx8L1— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) April 20, 2020
As you remember, Meghan and Harry officially stepped down as senior members of the British royal family at the end of March. Since then, they’ve been making headlines with their move to Los Angeles. And, Meghan’s trying to get back into acting. She’s already had one voice acting engagement that didn’t sit well with critics.
Now, they are lighting up the media by breaking up with UK tabloids. Mr. and Mrs. Markle have been in a battle with Daily mail for months since they published her private correspondence with her father. Now, they will no longer grant interviews with the tabloids.
The Daily Mail reported:
Royal watchers also condemned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s ‘narcissistic’ decision to have ‘zero engagement’ with the four British newspaper groups.
The Queen’s former press spokesmen Dickie Arbiter said the couple were ‘wrong’ and Prince Charles’s biographer Tom Bower said they ‘have become their own worst enemies’.
If Harry and Meghan hope to win back the public after leaving the royal family, they might want to listen to Piers Morgan’s criticism this host is giving them.
