Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey brutally shut down a question from a television host who was clearly trying to make him bash President Donald Trump during an appearance to promote his new book “Greenlights”.
Later the same day, the A Time To Kill star espoused some election advice that any down-to-earth American can appreciate.

Matthew McConaughey Shuts Down TV Host’s Leading Trump Question
On Wednesday, McConaughey appeared on “The Project” to promote his new memoir, “Greenlights‘. “The Project” is a news and current affairs talk show that airs nightly across Australia.
During the interview McConaughey was asked a leading question by host Carrie Bickmore. She wanted to know how he “feels about” President Donald Trump.
Many Hollywood celebrities would have taken this opportunity to viciously attack the president. However, McConaughey was not about to let the host back him into that corner.
“How do I feel about him?” McConaughey said in response. “I want a fuller context and a longer form to talk about that.”
“If I said something to you now, one line could be taken out of context and could be put into a headline, so I don’t want to take the chance for that,” the 50-year-old Academy Award-winner added. “I need a longer form, where I know it’s word for word – everything I’m saying is being broadcast.”
Clearly taken aback by McConaughey’s response, Bickmore stammered, “Well let’s lock in that chat for another day!”
“Great to chat! It’s been fabulous. Thank you very much for your time,” she added, ending the interview.

Matthew McConaughey Urges Americans To ‘Embrace’ Election Results
Then in another interview on Wednesday, McConaughey urged Americans to “embrace” the results of next month’s election, regardless of who wins.
While appearing on “Fox & Friends,” McConaughey said that his motto in life is “When faced with the inevitable, get relative.”
“It’s not inevitable who’s going to win,” he said, applying this motto to the election. “After that happens, whether it’s an incumbent or whether it’s Biden, after it happens is when it’s time to get constructive and not be in denial.”
The Dazed And Confused star added that Americans need to avoid getting too caught up in the mentality of “Oh, I can’t believe this happened,” and to instead focus on the reality of the results.
“It’s time to get constructive and not deny the fact of whatever’s happened and embrace the situation,” McConaughey said. “Whoever is going to be commander in chief and president of the United States of America, that’s not something, hopefully, that we’re going to deny or be able to argue.”

Matthew McConaughey Wants A ‘Clean’ Election
“I hope it’s a clean election,” the Wolf Of Wall Street actor explained. “Whichever way it goes I hope it’s clean and that there’s no debate.”
In the interview, McConaughey called himself “aggressively centric.” He also said that, when it comes to most issues, “I’ll meet you in the middle.”
Given how radically liberal and anti-Trump most Hollywood stars are, Matthew McConaughey’s down-to-earth attitude is a breath of fresh air.
Love him or hate him, it’s clear that this Texan has his own mind. And, that’s rare in the entertainment industry!
