Jill Duggar rose to fame starring on reality shows like “19 Kids And Counting” and “Counting On” with her devoutly Christian family.

The Duggars are known for being so devout that it came as a shock this week when Jill opened up about her “good sex life” with her husband Derick Dillard.

Jill And Derick Post Candidly Sexual Video

In a video posted to YouTube this month, Jill and Derick went on what they described as a “progressive date.” They went driving around with their two sons Samuel, 3, and Israel, 5, making various stops for food and drinks.

Before the date, Jill could be seen telling the camera, “Sex is a super important part of marriage, but it’s also important to prioritize fun and intimacy that leads to a healthy marriage, including a healthy sex life.”

Sex Comes Up Again

Once the date started, sex came up once again when Derick, 31, asked his sons, “Do you know how you got born? We had a date and then you started growing inside of mommy’s tummy.”

“We had a bunch of dates,” Jill, 29, said as she laughed.

“We did have four dates in one day, I think, that one time,” Derick said as the sexual innuendos kept on growing.

This may have been too much for his wife, because Jill quickly told him to “just chill a little bit.” They were using kid friendly terms, but it got to her.

“Oh, OK. Sorry,” he replied, at which time Jill quietly said, “Hey, we have a good sex life.”

“At least I’m trying to be discrete,” Derick said. “At least I used the word ‘date’ instead of the s-word.”

Jill Rebels Against Her Family

This is the kind of openly sexual conversation that would undoubtedly make Jill’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, cringe and clutch their pearls!

However, longtime fans of the Duggar family may not be as surprised by Jill comments about sex. She’s been open about wanting to distance herself from her family in recent years.

Since leaving her family’s reality show in 2017, Jill has broken some Duggar family rules by doing things like drinking alcohol, getting a nose ring, and even reading the Kama Sutra, according to Entertainment Tonight

“Sometimes, it’s a good thing being OK with other people not being OK,” Jill told People Magazine in October. “I never expected this to happen or for it to get to this point, but I’m realizing I can’t put a timeline on healing.”

“I love my family and they love me,” she added. “I really just have to follow God’s lead and take it one day at a time.”

Jill is clearly on her own unique journey in life that is different from the ones that many of her family members are on.

Hopefully her family will give her the chance to grow, and Jill will continue to love her family, regardless of where she ends up.
