Counting On fans have been a little worried about Jill Duggar after the birth of her son Samuel. She’s been rather quiet on social media lately, which is a stark contrast from when her oldest son was born.
There was concern about Jill’s health after her recent C-Section but some recent Instagram posts should put those concerns to rest.
Jill posted a picture of Samuel, reporting that he is growing quickly. Fans of Jill pointed out that he looks like her father Jim Bob.
Jill’s husband Derick posted a picture of the couple with their new son. He thanked a friend for bringing them lunch since it’s hard to cook while taking care of a newborn.
Unfortunately, there was a lot of outrage on that post directed at Derick. People argued that Derick should be cooking as Jill recovers from giving birth and having surgery. That backlash might not have been warranted as we don’t know the situation involving the couple. It might be hard for him to care for the two boys while Jill recovers and he simply can’t juggle cooking as well.
This outrage might have been fueled in part by a rather cryptic Instagram post from Jill about things not going as planned. She didn’t explain what that meant, so her fans were rightly concerned for her and they may have taken it out on Derick.
Whatever that post was about, I am glad to see a picture of Jill smiling. The couple also went on a date night over the weekend, giving them a much-needed break. They obviously aren’t going to let naysayers come between them!
