Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that as of March 10th, he is freeing Texas from the coronavirus restrictions, including the mask mandate. While many see this as a move towards freedom, predictably it set off a number of Hollywood celebrities.

Texas Mask Mandate Lifted

Abbott made this declaration on Texas Independence Day, March 2.

He backed up the decision by explaining how much progress Texans had made toward establishing herd immunity.

They are about to reach the 7 million vaccination mark. And people know how to act responsibly in their own best interest without the hand of government forcing them.

Tinseltown and left wing pundits have come to view masks as required uniforms.

With Californians fleeing the state in droves and settling in the Lone Star State, perhaps this will make them think twice before taking their left wing ideals to Texas.

California Governor Gavin Newsom took notice and called this decision “absolutely reckless.”

That was kind compared to what Hollywood liberals said.

Celebrities React To Abbot’s Announcement

Abbott’s announcement prompted “West Wing” actor Bradley Whitford to tweet the GOP is a death cult.

He doesn’t appear to understand that people can still wear masks if they choose and business have the right to require them.

Abbott’s decision merely removes the state government out of the equation.

Failed MSNBC host Keith Olbermann also is incensed about Texas ditching masks.

He believes the Lone Star State shouldn’t get anymore vaccines.

That contradicts the fact that with over 7 million vaccinated residents, the vaccine is allowing them to start opening up the state.

She pointed out Governor Abbott’s race. Apparently she believes only people of color should be making decisions, even though she voted for Joe Biden.

George Takei of “Star Trek” also claimed this was a racist decision.

Comedian Mike Birbiglia believes that Abbott is trying to “kill everybody” while President Biden is trying to save lives.

Abbot said, “Too many Texans have been sidelined from employment opportunities. Too many small business owners have struggled to pay their bills. This must end. It is now time to open Texas 100%.”
