Ghislaine Maxwell, the alleged former madam of the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has just found herself an unlikely defender as her sex crime trial continues.
Amanda Knox Defends Maxwell
Why are bad women so fun to watch? I asked @amandaknox: https://t.co/qQkEvqTVj5

Amanda Knox, who was found guilty and later acquitted for the murder of her former roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, has defended Maxwell in a new article published by Bari Weiss’s substack Common Sense. Knox served time in prison for a crime that was committed by Rudy Guede, who was released from prison one month ago.
Knox explained that she can relate to both Maxwell and Elizabeth Holmes. Holmes is on trial for defrauding Therano investors and patients, according to The Independent.
“I know very well what it’s like to be scapegoated for a man’s crimes and to be a victim of true coercion. If there is anyone who can empathize—and sympathize—with these two women, it’s me,” Knox said. “But even for me, it’s not easy… I can’t help but balk at their defense strategies, which seem like a refusal to be held accountable.”

Evidence Against Maxwell ‘Pretty Damning’
Maxwell is on trial for allegedly grooming young girls for sex with Epstein, and sometimes participating in the abuse herself. She’s plead not guilty to all charges, and is facing 70 years in prison if she is convicted.
Epstein allegedly committed suicide in prison while awaiting trial back in 2019, and Knox admitted that if he was alive, Maxwell would not be targeted as much as she currently is. That being said, Knox also said that the evidence against Maxwell is “pretty damning.”
“If Epstein were still alive—if the chief culprit were still around for us to hate—there’s no doubt Maxwell’d be subject to much less vitriol. But she’s been charged with her own crimes, not Epstein’s, and the evidence against her is pretty damning,” she said. “The alleged victims claim that she didn’t just go along with Epstein’s innumerable deceptions, but that she was an active participant in finding and grooming his victims.”

Knox Slams ‘The High Of Hating And Punishing Women’
Regardless of how Maxwell’s trial turns out, Knox lamented the fact that women are often blamed for the crimes of men.
“There’s nothing quite like the high of hating and punishing women accused of terrible crimes,” she said. “This fact is reason enough to be careful when we want to see them burn.”
Maxwell’s trial began at the end of November, and is expected to last six weeks. It will certainly be interesting to see how it plays out.
