The Rock Surprises His Mom
Page Six reported that The Rock, 50, shared a series of videos on Instagram in which he surprised his 73-year-old mother Alma with a new house. The videos were set to the touching “Over the Rainbow” cover by the late Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.
Alma could be seen walking up to the threshold of the house, which had a sign reading “Le Samoana,” a nod to Alma’s Samoan heritage.
“When I was a little boy, I hated when my mom would cry ~ these days, I’ll happily take her tears of joy,” The Rock wrote of his mom’s reaction to the house, which he spent eight weeks working on with a “design team.”
The Rock went on to say that he has been “lucky enough to have bought her a few homes over the years, but this one is special as she’s told me over and over these past few years, ‘After a lifetime of traveling, I want this home to be my last. That’s my dream.”
“Mom, there’s no greater feeling than to make you happy ~ welcome home ?❤️?,” he added.

The Rock Gives His Mother A Tour
In other videos, The Rock could be seen giving his mother a tour of the house, showing off some of its features. In one room, there were a bunch of photographs, with The Rock writing of them, “I was able to unearth pictures of our ancestors that she hasn’t seen since she was a child growing up in Samoa.”

Alma’s ‘New Smackdown Room’
The final video showed Alma coming upon her “new ‘Smackdown Room’ … where she keeps the coolest Rock/DJ memorabilia.”
“This is her favorite room to bring guests to and it’s my least favorite ???♂️??♂️ because the last thing I want to do is stand in a DJ Shrine while people look around as my mom takes them thru at all the stuff I’ve done. No thanks ??♂️?,” he explained.
“But, truth is, when I’m BY MYSELF ?, these Smackdown rooms she creates have such positive energy and beautiful mana,” The Rock continued. “Always a good reminder for me to never forget where I came and always be grateful for grind.”

“I always say, if you got a good mom then you got a shot at becoming a good, caring human being,” The Rock said at the end of his initial post. “Let’s all give our mamas a big grateful squeeze this weekend and make ’em happy.”
God bless The Rock for being such a good son, and giving his mother a surprise of this magnitude. We hope that Alma enjoys her beautiful new home for many years to come!
